About Me

Hello, I'm Brian! Nice to meet you. I'm a regular Belgian guy that likes video games ... a lot. So I decided to learn how to make them! I'm currently getting my professional bachelor in Game Development, and my plan is to get into the industry right after that! I also like to do web development, and I'm trying out blogging. In my (limited) spare time I play a game called EvE Online. If you have any questions, or would just like to have a chat, don't be afraid to send me an e-mail!

Education

As a highschool student, I studied Accounting & IT. This translated very well into what I currently study: Digital Arts & Entertainment with a Game Development Major at Howest in Kortrijk, Belgium. At the end of my studies, I will have a professional bachelor in Game Development. I'm a proud student, as our school recently got elected as the best game design & development school in the world by The Rookies!

Internship

I'm looking for an internship to finish up my professional bachelor's degree in Game Development. This internship has to run from 12 February 2018 to 15 June 2018 (18 weeks), but can run for longer if required (start date can't be changed, end date can). I'm mainly interested in smaller studios, working as a gameplay programmer, but I'm flexible! It will be an end of study internship, so I will graduate afterwards.

Game Development

I have experience with most parts of the game dev pipeline (Gameplay , AI and graphics programming). I've played with networking, but only for a limited time. On top of my programming experience, I'm also familiar with parts of the art pipeline (Modelling, Texturing, Particles). For multiple projects, I've also done game and level design.

I enjoy game design and gameplay programming most.

Web Development

My main education is based around game development, but as a hobby I like to do web development on the side. I have experience with Python / Flask, and have setup several online apps for online gaming communities.

Management

As a hobby, I play games, and I have gained some experience in management because of this. I’ve been running an online English (EvE Online) community for 6 years now, and have helped create it’s IT backbone.
